10th Avenue East

ABOUT THe project

Stately brick Federal home in the Seattle area, featuring authentic period details and a thoughtful modern-style remodel of the kitchen and dining areas, powder room, upper level hall bath, and entire primary suite.

Many clients wonder whether a clean, contemporary aesthetic can work within a traditional home. The answer is yes—there is always a beautiful way to meld the two motifs into a harmonious, timeless whole. If that’s the look you’re envisioning, don’t fret… let’s make it happen!

Of Note — The new horizontal dining window was hotly debated. The homeowner wasn’t sure it was necessary since it faced only nearby foliage. We advocated strongly, explaining that it would frame a continual, living view of movement, seasonal change, and soft natural illumination—essentially a dynamic piece of live artwork that would dramatically enhance the daily experience and flow of the space. The finished result exceeded even our highest expectations.
